The Agora was formerly hosted on MySpot, but that domain was sold. This site then was hosted at other domains until it found its final destination here. As part of the transition to this new domain, The Agora has been expanded and simplified. It is our hope that this transition makes the texts easier to find and read.

Since December 2001, I've been serving ad-free texts. The Agora is entirely graphics free--come for the reading, stay for the knowledge. The Agora stands as a public service reminding us that the web was not always about gross commercialization, and that not every corner has given in to that trend. In the early days of web development, content was placed on the main page, the idea being that most users would not scroll past the default view. Now the opposite has happened, many sites only show ads on the default view, the user is expected to scroll for the content.

The Agora is a creation of John Trapp. John has an about page and a contact page on his personal home page.
